40TH ANNUAL CORNHUSKER STATE GAMES: DATE: July 20, 2024 SITE: Branched Oak State Recreation Area (15 miles northwest of Lincoln) – View Map Boat launching will be from the Lincoln Sailing Club site. NO ACTIVITIES WILL OCCUR AT THE MARINA as in previous years. Lincoln Sailing Club address: plus code X4HC+38 Malcolm, Elk, NE; Lat/Long: 40°58’41.6?N 96°52’44.4?W STATE PARK PERMITS: State park permits are needed for vehicles to enter Branched Oak State Recreation Area. Permits may be purchased at the park. TIMES: 8-8:30 a.m. – Arrive and rig boat. (Lincoln Sailing Club mast crane will be available for use) 9:15 a.m. – Skippers meeting. 10:30 a.m. – First race. Noon – Lunch provided. 6 p.m. – Racing done, dinner (provided) and social gathering at Lincoln Sailing Club grounds. NOTE: Skipper meetings will be at Lincoln Sailing Club clubhouse. AWARDS: Custom Cornhusker State Games gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to each crew member of the top three finishing boats in each class.

Virginia Governors Cup regatta at Ware River YC in Gloucester, VA. This year‘s event will be held August 2-4 and we are anticipating a stellar turnout with the help of CBRYA and these invites. I‘m sure you have no doubt started reviewing this years race schedule and are making plans to travel to several events. Please consider this email your formal invitation to include Ware River YC‘s annual Governors Cup Regatta to the list of races you include in your schedule. Many of your members have participated in this event over the years and and we have always enjoyed hosting the Buc‘s. (we miss hearing the AAARRR when your not around). So please consider making WRYC a stop on this year‘s race circuit.
